Gunung Leuser National Park GLNP is abbreviated as usual one of the preservation of nature in Indonesia covering an area of 1.094.692 hectares. In the Administration is located in two provinces, namely the provinces of Aceh and North Sumatra.The forest is its dominating being in East Aceh, South Aceh, North Sumatra and Langkat, known for its world class coffeeproceeds and tobacco.

Gunung Leuser National Park and the surrounding area known as the Leuser ecosystem which became a UNESCO World Heritage site. There are approximately 130 species can be identified in the Gunung Leuser National Park, namely: Sumatran tigers, elephants, rhinossiamang, macaques, leopards, reptiles, fish, as well as 325 species of birds.


Gunung Leuser National Park has the highest peak 3.381 m and is one of the largest national parks in Indonesia and most diverse area of 7.927 km2 on the northern tip of Sumatra. When traversing the landscape is amazing, a true adventurerslike you will not be disappointed when you roam the Park.

Gunung Leuser National Park itself takes its name from Mount Leuser (3404 M above sea level) in Aceh. National parksinclude the original ecosystem of the coast to high mountains covered in typical tropical rain forests. The national parkszoning system is maintained for the purpose of research, science, education, support the cultivation, tourismand recreation.

Gunung Leuser National Park is extensive, including mangroves, swamp forest, lowland rain forests, forest Moss, subalpineforests and up. Hear a variety of ecosystems, this National Park is actually a group of various nature reserves and forests,namely: the nature reserve of Mount Leuser, Kappi nature reserve, a nature reserve Kluet, Sikundur-Langkat WildlifeReserve, rebuild Ketambe Research Station, the Singkil Barat, and Dolok Sembilin.

Gunung Leuser national park covers more than 100 kilometres of Barisan mountains, known for its condition of steep,mountainous terrain almost inaccessible. Height ranges from coastal regions in Kluet (South Aceh) namely 3.381 meters above the mount Leuser (Southeast Aceh). Stunning Pedestal River cut the Park into East and West sections, where your adrenaline-hungry captivating views of the tropical forest will be fulfilled.
